Every day the Central Statistical Office conducts Household, Agricultural and Business Surveys across Trinidad and Tobago. Our Interviewers visit selected Households, Farms and Businesses to collect accurate data that guides national planning and decision making. All information provided is confidential and used strictly for statistical purposes. Below you can find the areas where surveys are currently being conducted. If an interviewer visits your household, you can verify the legitimacy of the survey here.

Continuous Sample Survey of the Population (CSSP)
The Continuous Sample Survey of Population (CSSP) is a multi-purpose household survey with it’s primary objective being to provide up-to-date data on the Labour Force characteristics of the population of Trinidad and Tobago on a continuing basis. It is also a vehicle for collecting data on other subjects of interest to both Government and Private Agencies for the purposes of planning and formulating policies.

Agriculture Surveys
The Agriculture Statistics Division is responsible for the collection, compilation and dissemination of information on periodic food crop and livestock surveys. Its primary objective is to estimate local food production. Information is also collected on prices, acreage, stocks, value of sales, disposals and acquisitions of animals, employment numbers and farming constraints.

Business Surveys
The establishment survey covers primarily business establishments, but also includes government agencies, non-profits, and most other entities that employ workers for a wage. Our surveys often only cover a subset of all establishments in an industry, normally those above a certain size limit within their industry. Feedback from establishment surveys facilitates the compilation of estimates of GDP and is also the vital mechanism for updating the Statistical Business Register as it provides information on changes in contact address, changes in the economic stratification characteristics, such as activity and size as well as provide information on business deaths, etc.
